At Carleton University, we believe that student well-being is essential to learning, growth and success. Creating a healthy campus community is a shared responsibility, and we are committed to ensuring students feel supported, connected and able to access the resources they need to thrive.
Our work is guided by a holistic approach to well-being that recognizes the diverse experiences, strengths and needs of students. Through the Student Mental Health Framework, the Okanagan Charter and the National Standard of Canada for Mental Health and Well-Being for Post-Secondary Students, we work to promote a culture of care, strengthen supports and services, and help faculty and staff foster student well-being across the university.

Student Mental Health Framework
Our Framework guides our efforts to promote student mental health and well-being through coordinated supports, services and initiatives. It reflects a holistic approach that recognizes the diverse experiences and needs of students while helping faculty and staff foster a healthy campus community.

Okanagan Charter
The Okanagan Charter shapes Carleton’s commitment to creating a healthy campus community where well-being is valued, supported and embedded throughout the student experience. It guides our efforts to foster a culture of care, connection and belonging for all members of our community.

Postvention Strategy
The Postvention Strategy helps ensure students, faculty and staff have access to compassionate support and resources following a death that affects our campus community. It provides guidance for responding with care, strengthening community supports and promoting healing during difficult times.
